A great place to visit if you are interested in WW2 aviation history, with an extensive museum containing fascinating artifacts. The old control tower is well worth a visit, where you can study the map of the full airfield and see it on the surrounding land. Surprisingly, entry is free, but there are plenty of opportunities to help. The excellent volunteer run cafe serves drinks and snacks, as well as books and gifts. If you're passing by, it's a great place for a cuppa - but check the website for opening days.
Really interesting place. The volunteers we spoke to were excellent and really brought the stories to life
What a fantastic museum. The volunteers working here are superb. A great day out and its free! Though a good donation from your visit wouldn't go amiss!
Excellent place to visit!! Small but packed full of information and the staff have amazing knowledge we easily spent 2 hours reading listening and looking. Definitely worth a visit for anyone who hasn't been before. They don't charge to enter but you can make donations. This is run by volunteers who obviously love to express there passion.
Wonderful, well worth the visit great exhibits friendly staff. Entry is free be sure to shop in the well priced cafe and shop. The veterans well is a moving sight, be sure to leave a donation as this museum has been thoughtfully restored and is a monument to all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
