Fabulous place of great interest, amazing location, a working tide mill with original wheel. Buy their own produce, genuine milled flours, public tours & information. Origibal gifts fir sale. Highly recommended.
A rare piece of history - a working tide mill - in a beautiful location on the banks of the River Deben. Lots of information about the milling process, and fun stuff for kids to do as well. Visit the website and find out when the waterwheel is turning, and when they're milling. The wholemeal flower produced makes wonderful bread!
Fascinating museum of a working mill that still produces flour. Given a wonderful tour by the miller who explained in detail how the mill works and it's history. Kids enjoyed the mouse hunt, grinding their own flour and learning about the miller who died there in mysterious circumstances.
Little local museum with an abundance of historical knowledge in the art of making flour. Lots of information for the avid reader with a few things for the kids to try their hand at too. Milling flour on the hand wheel, puzzles, buttons, lift up flap Q&A and looking for the 12 infamous mice over 3 floors for a small prize. Cheerful, friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff. Worth a quick visit when in Woodbridge.
Brilliant, interesting, still working mill. One of only two in the whole country. Mill turned on the day we were there. Comment for trustees - The flour for sale ground at the mill is too cheap! I would have happily paid more than you charge (I popped another pound in the donation box!)
